Is jump rope countable?
Yes it is! Jump rope is very easy to count. We can count the number of times we do a Cross or a double under, to name but a few. In competition, there is even where athletes try to do as many triple unders in a row unbroken. The current World Record for this is held by Tori Boggs who has successfully done 493 unbroken triple unders.
We can also count the number of steps we take in a set time domain. This is known as 'speed training’. Let’s take a closer look.
In speed training, we count every time the right foot touches the floor. This could be within a 15-second time domain, 30-second or a whole minute. For example, if we achieve a score of 186 steps in a minute, we would say we scored “93”, since this is how many times our right foot touched the floor. We may also choose to count the number of trips that occurred during that set. If we tripped twice throughout we would then say we scored “93/2”.
