The Jump Rope Company at RSC Nationals in Abbotsford, BC
From May 15 - 18, 2026, The Jump Rope Company in Canada had an incredible time attending the Rope Skipping Canada National Championships in Abbotsford. The energy inside the venue was nonstop all weekend long, with athletes from across the country coming together to compete, connect, and celebrate the sport we all love.
We were proud to be part of the vendor area, where we spent the weekend meeting athletes, coaches, parents, friends, and spectators who stopped by to check out our jump ropes. It was amazing seeing so many people excited about jump rope - whether they were seasoned competitors or simply curious about getting started (watching all the talented athletes compete is sure to be an inspiration to many. We sold a lot of ropes throughout the weekend and loved helping people find the right fit for freestyle, speed, fitness, or just for fun.
One of the highlights of the weekend was meeting Mike Fry, creator of the mic release. I must admit, I was a bit star struck! It was exciting to connect with someone who has made such a recognizable contribution to the jump rope community and sport. The mic release along with its many variations is a personal favourite of mine.
We also had the chance to catch up with many familiar faces throughout the championships. Seeing our athlete Elise compete was a proud moment, and it was great connecting with Coach Kayla from Vancity Vortex along with so many others from the community. We even met people we recognized from Instagram, which made the event feel even more special. There’s something special about finally meeting online friends and supporters in real life after seeing their jump rope journeys on social media.
Beyond the competition itself, the championships were a reminder of how welcoming and passionate the jump rope community is. Everywhere you looked, athletes were cheering each other on, sharing skills, supporting teammates, and inspiring younger jumpers coming into the sport.
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, purchased a rope, shared kind words, or simply came over to say hello. Events like Nationals are what keep our passion for jump rope growing stronger every year, and we’re already looking forward to the next one.
